Our Team and Leadership
Since its inception, Drama Queens has maintained at the forefront of its leadership, those with the lived experiences of advocacy in defense of the human rights of women, girls and the LGBTQ+ community – steering our work from an intersectional feminist and pan-Africanist standpoint consistent with our values.

Meet the Team
This organizational structure is built organically from our volunteer base and is guarded by our ‘under-30’ policy which ensures that central decision making is made by people who reflect the dynamic feminist queer community that we serve and whose evolving needs remain relevant within our projects, campaigns, and initiatives. The team currently consists of 2 Co-Directors, 5 team leads, a varied volunteer base (both online and in-person) of over 25 people and is guided by a board of directors.
At Drama Queens, our team led by two co-directors and supported by five team leads deeply values collaboration as a powerful tool for building community and driving collective action. Our work is grounded in feminist principles and intersectionality, recognizing the complex and layered nature of oppression.
Our core values, equity and justice, care, accountability to the communities we serve, inclusivity, accessibility, and rest are not just ideals, but practices that shape our organizing and decision-making. We embrace transformational leadership, where power is shared, leadership is horizontal and transparent, and everyone is encouraged to lead from where they stand. Our staff are committed to continuous learning, unlearning, and co-creating spaces that are liberators, responsive, and rooted in collective care.
